A mirror: a bottomless, faceless plane
A faithful audience for which to vogue
An alter upon which tears fall like rain
A ruler of impressions: none go rogue
An endless love affair: thankless and cruel
Thank god mirror impressions are fleeting
You are boiled down to naught but gruel
A slew of flaws with one chair seating
But what of beauty? Impressions pleasing
Showing your countenance fully in bloom
A tantalizing glance, mirror teasing
Where high self esteem and pride now assume
A tool for your id, measures volume; mass
Yet what is this fateful mirror but glass
